VPN software runs alongside browsers, communication tools, games, and work applications, so resource usage matters on a PC. The Windows application is designed to operate with minimal system resource usage and provides a desktop interface intended for mouse-and-keyboard navigation.
Quick server switching is also relevant in a multitasking environment. Instead of rebuilding the connection setup whenever another location is needed, the server can be changed from the application itself.
The service states that bandwidth is unlimited. This avoids a fixed traffic allowance for activities such as downloads, work calls, browsing, or streaming, although VPN encryption itself can introduce some performance overhead.
Public Wi-Fi Adds a Privacy Reason for Using a VPN
A Windows laptop may move between a home connection, office network, hotel Wi-Fi, airport hotspot, and other shared networks. A VPN creates an encrypted tunnel for internet traffic and hides the public IP address associated with the ordinary connection.
The service also states that it follows a strict no-logs policy covering browsing history, traffic data, connection timestamps, and IP addresses. Treat Setup as a Short Configuration Process
A sensible Windows installation can be reduced to a clear sequence: verify the operating system and architecture, confirm available disk space and administrator access, install the desktop application, sign in, and make the first server connection. Protocol and location settings can then be adjusted if necessary.
There is little benefit in changing every advanced option immediately. Starting with automatic settings provides a baseline, while manual server and protocol controls remain available for later use. This approach keeps the initial setup straightforward without removing the flexibility that may become useful once the VPN is part of the computer's regular network configuration.
