Two first half-goals from Watford were enough to see off a below par Swansea City. Jose Ramirez Jersey Tommy Smith and Tamas Priskin were the men to strike and consequently inflict a first defeat in 16 games for Swansea.The victory meant Brendan Rodgers side climbing out of the relegation zone to sit one point above Norwich City. The defeat for the Swans doesnt deal their hopes of promotion a great blow as Bob Uecker Jersey they still sit within three points of Sheffield United and that last play-off position.Watford had a couple of attempts on goal in the opening stages, whilst at the other end Thomas Butler produced a magnificent save from England U21 goalkeeper Scott Loach.The Swansea players moved the ball about as if they were Brazil in disguise, however it all came to nothing as Watford took the lead in the 23rd minute.Jobi McAnuff led Mike Foltynewicz Jersey a Watford break-away before slipping the ball into the path of Smith. His low ball acro s found its way through to Priskin who claimed his fourth goal in four games with a cool finish between the legs of Dorus De Vries.Smith and McAnuff linked up again to provide Watfords second just ten minutes later. It was rolls reversed this time as Smith slipped the ball through for McAnuff. Watfords new signing Don Cowie received the ball from the winger and looked certain to score until a magnificent stop from Dorus De R.A. Dickey Jersey Vries.The ball was only partially cleared by Swansea however, and Smith lashed in a superb half-volley to take Watford into half-time with a two goal lead.Swansea took the game to Watford in the second half and Jason Scotland almost continued his amazing run of form after his free-kick went just over the bar.Watford were able to fashion a chance of their own however as Priskin sent Smith through. He could only send the ball wide of the post under pre sure though.Roberto Babe Ruth Jersey Martinez tried desperately to salvage the game by bringing on another striker late on, however Rodgers men held on for a vital three points.
